Washington, D.C.—Today, Generation Progress Action launched a new initiative to connect with young voters in the lead up to the 2020 election and beyond. 

The initiative, which includes the launch of a new, rebranded website and new Twitter and Instagram handles, will allow Generation Progress Action to engage more deeply and consistently with young people on their preferred platforms as well as give us the ability to elevate the voices of young people whose voices might not otherwise be heard. 

Also included in this initiative is our recently launched “Conversations with Community Leaders” series, which features live discussions with activists and political leaders about how young people of color are engaging in activism and politics. The series is led by Generation Progress Action’s #Fight4AFuture senior consultant, Bruce Franks Jr. Former and future guests include Tiffany Dena Loftin, Julián Castro, Bakari Sellers, and Joshua Harris-Till. 

“Millennials and Generation Z will make up over one-third of all potential voters this November, but the electoral power of our generations is too often dismissed or ignored,” said Brent J. Cohen, the executive director of Generation Progress Action. “Generation Progress Action is committed to listening to the needs of young potential voters, amplifying and elevating their work, and advocating for better representation. We saw young people show up to vote in record numbers in 2018, and we believe that, with the help of young leaders and youth-allied organizations, young people will turn out in record numbers once again in this election to vote and fight for meaningful progress on the issues that matter.”
